Theatre I'm looking forward to in 2025
I'm talking London theatre... If last year was a busy one, I fear 2025 will be just as busy with the eclectic talent coming to London this year.
Looking ahead to 2025 and the shows that are transferring to the West End, actually gives me goose bumps. I saw some incredible performances last year and missed out on some too.
With another bout of flu I had to give up my ticket to see Oedipus, two days before it closed, a friend message and offered me a spare ticket at face value. That was my new year gift.
The production lived up to every expectation and the performances by Mark Strong and Leslie Manville stay with you long after you’ve gone home, if it is ever shown anywhere, grab a ticket immediately.
Taking the gloom out of January I’m at my desk, with my new Smythson diary for 2025 booking new shows to take me through to spring. I also update the post regularly with reviews and when I add shows I’m booking.
At the end of my fantastic British Overview short course at the V&A with Matt Wolf, he gave us a quick run through of what he is looking forward to in 2025. Some of which I’ve included here, but this is my list, influenced by Matt without a doubt. There are plays I’ve already seen and others come highly recommended.
What am I booking so far into 2025?
As you know by now 7 is my lucky number. This is the number I try and limit any of my recommendations to. On this post it has been hard, but I know come the summer another post will be due, so this is very much leading up to Spring 2025. I have added a few extra’s that I have already booked because they have gone on sale early, and that is when you get the best priced tickets.
